We pulled inspiration from a painting representing GENOODMAGEJIG, which is an Anishinabe word meaning “those who advocate.” It strongly implies believing in the cause as well as “supporting and guiding”, which is a perfect representation of what NNC Firm stands for.
We took the symbolism found within the eagle flying across the sky and separated them into four individual symbols – the circle, the two faces, the eagle and the feather pen – each representing a colour of the medicine wheel. This treatment of the brand creates a strong connection to the work they do and the communities they represent.
Two pieces of art, GENOODMAGEJIG and The Treaty, served has heavy inspiration for the treatment of the website: we pulled in the eagle from the former and the council members from the latter. Both pieces of art have a strong connection to the firm and the Indigenous communities they represent, which is why they inform the aesthetic of the entire website.
We made sure the website also flowed naturally through each section while using imagery and symbolism that represents the connection the Indigenous community has with nature.
