Tailwinds Bar & Grill

Tailwinds Bar & Grill is nestled on the shores of Lake St. John, ten minutes from Casino Rama. Considered the crown jewel of Orillia Rama Regional Airport, the restaurant is the perfect place for aviation lovers to enjoy a pint and a meal while being entertained by the coming and going aircraft.

/ Brand

The location of the restaurant profoundly influenced our treatment of the Tailwinds brand. Found at Orillia Rama Regional Airport and surrounded by the rustic beauty of Ramara Township, we incorporated both aviation and distressed wood on the logo and throughout all digital and brand materials.

The aircraft featured in the logo is commonly seen on the tarmac at the airport and also serves as inspiration for the colour scheme found on the website. The interior of the restaurant is very rustic and heavily features an aviation theme, so we wanted to keep the brand consistent with the overall experience of eating at Tailwinds Bar & Grill.

/ Print

We designed and printed brand collaterals including menus, drink cards, cocktail menus, business cards, pamphlets, exterior and interior signage for the restaurant and business cards for staff members. We work hand-in-hand with the operations manager to update menus, drink specials and send out regular updates to restaurant patrons.

/ Digital

The website continues with the aviation theme — the colour palette of red, white and black is inspired by the real-life airplane that inspired the logo. Menus were recreated for the online experience while also easily downloadable. We set up sessions for both photography and video to be featured throughout the website to give users a taste of what to expect from their Tailwinds experience.

TCCO also created the Propellerheads Club as a way to maintain communication with past customers, giving them updates about the menu, events, drink specials and contests through EDMs.
